they’ve always been the best of friends, even when he kicked her out of his tree house and when she forced him to participate in tea parties. she held his hand when their father scolded him and he held her close when some silly boy broke her heart. he’s the town’s hero, everyone’s favorite golden boy and she’s a little odd, but he’ll defend her to the ends of the earth, even if she teases him more often than he deserves. they rely on each other and neither can survive without the other, even if they’re too proud to admit it.
